Oil & Gas: Pipelines: Projects

A partial listing of MEI Maverick Engineering’s pipeline project experience is as follows:

PROCESS SIMULATION GATHERING PIPELINES

MEI completed a process model of approximately 20 wells for a customer’s XP system, associated XP gathering lines and performed analysis of the gathering line model that included the future wells to determine what additions will be necessary to flow the wells at the desired flowrates and pressures.

PIPELINE INTERCONNECTION AND METER SITES

Maverick was awarded the Pipeline Interconnect project that included engineering, design and procurement assistance for five (5) pipeline interconnection and metering sites. The sites were all for different pipeline companies, each with their own specifications and requirements. Maverick handled interface with each pipeline company for design and technical issues as well as the specific metering requirements.

PROJECT MANAGER, 8-MILES 12” PIPELINE AND 4-MILES 6” & 8” PIPELINES –

Galveston Bay Texas; Project Manager for design and construction of 4 miles of liquid and gas pipelines across the Inter Coastal Waterway to production facilities and 8 miles of 12” residue gas pipeline crossing wetlands, a navigation canal and a state highway. Project tasks included: environmental assessment, permitting, cathodic protection, buoyancy, hydraulic analysis, directional boring.

PROJECT MANAGER, 4-MILES 6” PIPELINE

Project Manager for concept development, detailed design and construction management of high pressure gas pipeline.

PROJECT MANAGER, 8-MILES 6” & 8” PIPELINES

Project Manager for de-bottlenecking a high pressure salt water pipeline system. Eight miles of new polyethylene-lined pipelines were added. Project tasks included nodal analysis and cathodic protection.

PROJECT MANAGER, 15-MILES 2”–8” PIPELINES

Project Manager for modelling gas and liquids gathering pipelines to optimize the system. Fifteen miles of new lines were designed and constructed.

PROJECT MANAGER, 2-MILES 14” PIPELINE

Project Manager for routing new pipeline across State Highway in South Texas. Project scope included permit requirements for TxDOT.

PROJECT MANAGER, 7-MILES 8” PIPELINE AND DEHYDRATION FACILITIES

Project management, conceptual design, permitting, equipment specification, detailed design, procurement and commissioning of a 8” gas pipeline and dehydration facility to DOT specifications. Handled technical details with the interconnecting pipeline company. Design also included the design and installation of a H2S scavenging system to remove trace amounts of H2S from the transported gas.

PROJECT MANAGER, 80-MILES PARALLEL 30” & 24” PIPELINES

Project Manager to make existing pipelines smart piggable. Besides the installation of pig launchers and receivers, several mainline valve (MLV) assemblies were replaced and drip assemblies removed. Provided project management, engineering and construction management. Developed shop fabrication and construction bid packages.

PROJECT MANAGER, 1-MILE 30” PIPELINE CLASS UPGRADE

Project Manager to replace about one mile of 30" pipe with heavier wall pipe rated for Class 3 location through a residential neighborhood. Surveying included house count survey to determine the limits of class location.

PROJECT MANAGER, 42-MILES 2”-8” PIPELINES ABANDONMENT

Project Manager from concept to close-out to abandon several pipelines no longer in service. Pipelines were either removed or abandoned in-place. Coordinated with client's environmental, regulatory and property rights departments to obtain clearances for completing the projects.

ENGINEERING MANAGER, FIELD DEVELOPMENT PLANNING

Project Sponsor for a field development planning study for an offshore gas. Study involved evaluation of pipeline options for a 170 mile gas pipeline. Performed: pipeline sizing, calculations, multiphase flow / slug size calculations, buoyancy calculations, pipeline stability analysis, prepared capital and operating cost estimates.
